Tau Alpha Chi

Tau Alpha Chi (T.A.X.) is the national honorary association whose objective is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the field of taxation. A chapter of Tau Alpha Chi was established in the Spring of 2000 at Kansas State University.

Objectives:


Membership Requirements:

To qualify for membership, a student must be duly registered at Kansas State University with a major in Accounting.

As an undergraduate student, the student must have completed at least 60 semester hours including at least two introductory (Accounting for Business Operations and Accounting for Investing and Financing, or their equivalents) and two upper level accounting courses (Accounting Process and Controls and Taxation I), of which Taxation I must be in residence. Both overall and accounting grade point averages must be at least 3.0 (where A = 4.0). The student must have received either an A or a B in their tax course(s).

As a graduate student, the student must have completed at least one graduate level tax course in residence. Both overall and accounting grade point averages must be at least 3.0 (where A = 4.0). The student must have received either an A or a B in their tax course(s).
